森の木々に囲まれた茶室をつくりたい。
依頼の主とともに敷地を訪れると、すでに設られた7.7m四方の木製デッキが山の斜面に浮かんでいた。山風が吹き、細長い木々がしなってざわざわ揺れた。寝転ぶだけで心地よい時間が流れた。

周囲を鈍く映しこむ床の上にφ13のスチールバーによる躙口、小机、花器を設え、木立のなかに直径1.9mの輪を浮かべた。そこへ着脱可能な撥水シートの天蓋を吊りこみ、空気の流れをとどめる。揺れる木々と僅かな人工物を纏うとき、ざわめきの中に茶の湯の空間が起ち上がる。

I dreamed of creating a tea house surrounded by the trees of the forest.
When I visited the site with the client, a 7.7m square wooden deck had already been built on the mountainside. The wind blew and the long, thin trees rustled and swayed. Just lying down on the deck was a pleasant experience.
On the floor, which reflects the surroundings dully, a 13-meter-diameter steel bar, a small desk, and flower vases were set up, and a 1.9-meter-diameter ring floated in the grove of trees. A canopy of removable water-repellent sheets was hung to retain the flow of air and create the contours of the space. The swaying trees and a few artifacts create a space for chanoyu in the midst of the rustle.
